🚀 ILO and the Supreme Youth Council Kick Off a Major Training Program to Empower Iraqi Youth in the Job Market
Today marks the start of a six-day significant Training of Trainers (ToT) program in Erbil, launched on October 28, 2024, as part of the strategic partnership between the International Labour Organization (ILO) and the Supreme Youth Council.
This program includes:
Career counseling Training, utilizing the innovative ILO “My Future at Work” toolkit, which covers:
• Ho…w to choose my future profession.
• How to organize my job search
• How to work in the green economy
• Green Business Training, focusing on sustainable business practices and equipping participants with the tools and knowledge to establish or transition businesses into eco-friendly enterprises, promoting sustainability and innovation.
Following the training, ILO and the Supreme Youth Council will jointly conduct a coaching and follow-up process. This will ensure that the trainers are well-supported in delivering these critical concepts and tools to thousands of youth across Iraq, amplifying the impact of this initiative. As part of the continuous learning journey, trainers will also get exposure to social protection through the TRANSFORM initiative early next year.
This training is supported by two ILO projects:
🌍 Towards more and better employment through enhanced support to private sectors in southern Iraq – with a focus on green business
🌐 Social Protection Programme in Iraq: Leveraging Effective Response and Inclusion
Together, these programs aim to empower Iraqi youth with the skills and knowledge needed for decent work, career guidance, and green economy opportunities, paving the way for sustainable development.
